Well, I haven’t finished the zebra socks yet, but I am going to start FO Fridays with a shawlette I finished a couple of weeks ago. I tested a pattern called Sara’s Story Shawl for a designer on Ravelry using some of the Cephalopod Yarns Skinny Bugga I bought when Sarah was closing the business. This was my first project with that yarn, and I love it! It’s super soft and really light but warm, and of course the color is gorgeous. Now I’m kicking myself that I didn’t buy more when it was available.
I like the lace pattern on the shawl, and it wasn’t hard to knit, but I did have to pay attention. I’m a little disappointed at how small they shawl is, though. I got the correct gauge, but I had to leave out one repeat so I wouldn’t run out of yarn, so it barely meets in the front when I wrap it around my shoulders. I could wrap it around my neck and use it as a scarf, but I already have a ton of scarves. I’m going to think about it for a while, but I might frog it, reknit the pattern with a larger skein of yarn, and use the Skinny Bugga for something else.
(You’ll have to excuse the pictures. I forgot to get anyone at work to take pictures for me, so only Work Husband was left to take one, and he didn’t feel like getting up. :-\ )
